APPLICATIONS FOR 2014 ARE NOW CLOSED.

The 2014 Mentoring Program for Higher Education students is a new initiative by the Careers & Employment Service and the Higher Education & Research Department at William Angliss Institute.

The program aims to pair Higher Education students (mentees) with industry professionals (mentors) in order to provide a link to their profession and exposure to the practical realities of working in the Hospitality, Tourism, Events and Culinary industries.

Why should I apply?

The program begins in July and runs to December. During the 6-month program time frame, you will have regular contact with your mentor, providing you with the opportunity to:
+ Increase your industry understanding
+ Develop and build professional networks
+ Identify your interests and skills and match them to appropriate careers
+ Broaden your knowledge of the career options open to you
+ Gain job hunting advice, techniques and career guidance from a mentor with professional experience in a relevant field
+ Enhance your communication and interpersonal skills to ensure “job readiness” that future employers look for in candidates.

Who are the mentors?

The mentors have been selected by the Careers and Employment Service and the Higher Education and Research Department and have extensive and specialised industry knowledge and experience. They are all committed to the development of Hospitality, Tourism, Events and Culinary industries and creating a sustainable workforce.
